I knew Bubba when we went to St.Pauls high along with Dickie Harrell, another of the Blue Caps. I later lived across the street from Bubba on Vick Street in Portsmouth when we both had kids.
I am sure Bubba is still rocking in heaven.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Tommy Facenda. I really enjoyed his hit record of "High School U.S.A." that was released in 1959. It was issued on Atlantic records and there were 28 different versions released in different areas of the U.S. In my area (Seattle-Portland, OR). Tommy mentioned the high school that I ended graduating from in 1964 (Stadium High, in Tacoma, WA. May he Rest In Peace

Uncle Bubba was like a father to me, always. I will miss him greatly. He was a Rock and Roll legend. The whole world was lucky enough to see and experience a part of him that he loved to show and did it well. Our family was lucky enough to experience all of him. His ground breaking "clapper" style and vocals are still influencing artists today. If there is a Rock and Roll Heaven, well you know they got a .........

Prayers go out to Gail and the girls. He was a friend to me long, long ago when I was just starting out as a very young (19) Brother-in-law. I have not seen Bubba in many years, but I remember the kindship we shared as we both married into that very strong willed Greer family. I loved them all so very ago.

It was one of the blessings of my life to have this man as my Uncle. Bubba was always the life of the party and could always pick up your spirit when you were down." I can't count the times he's made me laugh but this time he's made me cry, cause there's nothing quite as sad as when your heroes die!"

Rest in peace Bubba

He was called Bubba in our family, he was only thirteen when I was born so he was always a big brother to me. He always had a story to tell or a joke to get a laugh. Will be missed for his good nature and love of family. Sweet dreams until we meet again,

Gail, Angela & Gina, our hearts go out to all of you. We will miss him even though we didn't get together as much as we did in the past, he sure was a special man in our hearts, as are all of you. God Bless.

Bubba and I started St Paul's School in 1945, and throughout our grammar school years were buddies. He was a good fellow who I admired for his talent as a singer as we grew older. He entertained my classmates at the 25th Reunion of my Classmates at Cradock.

I have not seen him in a few years as we advanced into our eighties (I am 16 days older than him)

My deepest sympathy to his wife and family. He was a kind man. May he rest in eternal peace.
