KK was so loving and full of life, she was always concerned about the other person not herself. She was a amazing beautiful woman. I miss her smile and telling me in whatever I did to have fun. So KK if you are listening I am trying to have fun.

For Family
Loving thoughts and warmth of tears
will touch the heart today
In memory of the one we lost
and miss as sweet KK
A mother, friend, with will that lives
in those she left behind
With laughs she brings from thoughts of her
to those her memories bind
Together strong as families must
for children, friends, and those
Who gain in strength from who she was
and love she'd want to show
She saw that God was there for her
and there for us to find
When family joins with her and Him
in joy and for all time.

I can't believe that it has been a year already. I miss Karen every day. I am truly blessed by her friendship and will cherish that for the rest of my days. All of our times together were precious to me, but one day stands out above the rest. It was a pretty rough day for Karen, with her slipping in and out of sleep. During one of her awake moments, she asked Jodi and I what was going on in our world. We had been waiting for an opening to ask her what was going on with her as she seemed to slip back and forth between this world and the next. So, I asked, "What is going on in YOUR world?" She then proceeded to tell us of the wonderful time that she was spending with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. She described a much deeper relationship that we could ever imagine while living here. I knew at that moment, that while we would all miss her terribly, that she had the better deal because she was in what she described as "deep relationship" with the Trinity. Wow! Even in her last months, she was still an amazing minister. I am looking forward to the day when we are all reunited with her. Until then, I will hold the memory of our friendship close to my heart and try to always live my life in a way that would make Karen proud to know me.

We will miss her sweet smile... yet her spirit is living on and she is with her LORD whom she loved dearly and shared with all she came to know. I will always remember her teaching my grandson, Mykal Marraccini... the year she started the former teacher said Mykal was a "problem" to control... yet... she saw he was actually a leader and put him in that position... and he was a total different boy in class. She saw the heart... We are praying for you all to have that peace that only God can give you.... love and prayers. Ronnie and Carol Rickman

I was reading my devotional this morning and thought of KK:
“After I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me.” John 14:3
Note the promise of Jesus. “I will come back and take you to be with me.” Jesus pledges to take us home. He does not delegate this task. He may send missionaries to teach you, angels to protect you, teachers to guide you, singers to inspire you, and physicians to heal you, but He sends no one to take you. He reserves this job for Himself.
I will never forget you KK.

I will always be indebted to you for taking on a denominational group of needy women who were so hungry for more of the Holy Spirit in our lives. That was the beginning of life which has never been the same!!!
I was so sorry to hear from Carolyn Pratt about the death of your dear daughter. I pray that the Holy Spirit will bring you great comfort and peace and that you will be very much aware of His presence with you at this very difficult time.

Dear Pastor Jerry, Laura and family...both Bill and I were so saddened to learn of Karen's passing. Denny Clark sent us the her obituary this week. I personally remember having her in my Sunday School class that I taught and seeing her on Wednesday nights at Whirlybirds and Missionettes. I will always remember her as a bright and lovely little girl. My heart is with you both and with your family during this time. Having lost our son at age 37, we know how difficult it is for you. Know that you are in our prayers that the Lord will bring you peace and comfort now and in the days ahead.

Pastor Qualls, Laura and Carlene...I was so sad to hear about Karen's passing. Just a few weeks ago my Brother Harry posted a picture on our family website (for my birthday) of Karen and I at the beach when we were just kids. I've been thinking about Karen ever since and was wondering how she was doing. I'm so thankful I got to visit with her a little while a few years back when we brought my Mama down to your church for a visit. What a precious testimony that girl of yours has!! She will forever have a special place in my heart. It's so un-natural to loose a child before it's our time, but God gives us the strength to make it through each day. It's been six and half years since we lost our Son and I can still feel his presence and laughter around us. God bless each of you! Big hug from The Ervin family.

Dear Thomas, Laura, Jerry, Carlene, Kevin and Family. Our prayers and thoughts are with you at this time of your grief. On every occasion of meeting Karen she was always smiling and happy even in her physical pain, that was a great testimony to me. Once she told me she loved me just for being Deanna's Mom. She loved my daughter and that alone makes her special to me. I saw how she was with her nieces at church, she truly enjoyed them and encouraged them to be "real" and express their love for God in dance and singing. We will rejoice in her life and legacy. Laura and Jerry, you did good! Vickie and Gary Tingwald

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I knew Karen a little when I was in Carlene's wedding and more later through my conversations with Carlene. I wish I had known her more but I look forward to seeing her in heaven with my parents and brother some day. She was an incredible person with a massive love for God, her family and life! My heart goes out to all of her family and I'm praying that you will be comforted in the special times and memories that you shared with Karen and in knowing that she is having fun in heaven! I thought of Karen and her family last night when I read Isaiah 51:11, "The ransomed of the LORD will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." I thank God for allowing me to have met Karen and to know her wonderful family.

What an awesome testimony and life Karen lived. We have not seen your children since Woodbridge Assembly (1977), but we are not surprised to hear of the wonderful Christian woman Karen turned out to be...having such loving, talented and committed parents such as you both are. There has been so much said about Karen. She has left a wonderful testimony and legacy that will go on and on. We want you and all the family to know we share your sorrow, and we are praying for God's love and mercy to bless you all during this time.

I knew Karen when she was at Walter Hoving Home. How she lit up a room with her joy and laughter when she walked into a room! She loved life and loved people and loved God. I remember her in skits, in times of prayer, and just day-to-day life, which she made so memorable and enjoyable. Life was a celebration with her, and I'm thankful to have been with her over the course of her year there. And am so thankful to hear of the legacy of her life in ministry to others. Today she is in the grandstands of heaven - cheering, worshipping and loving Jesus like she did here. To God be the glory!

There are so many things I could say right now... but there are 2 images that have always been in my mind whenever i heard KK's name or saw her gorgeous face. My first favorite moment was seeing KK physically laying on the cross at a Women's retreat. The overwhelming joy in her to just lay there on Jesus' cross was so powerful to me - beyond anything else I have ever remembered. To know how she just laid everything, herself included, right there at God's feet...You'll never know how much that image to this day affects my life. My other sweet image is her sweet smile. Even when her body did not want to be kind, and she had to come to the ER- there that sweet smile would be with a hint of mischief behind it. I would then here all the staff talking about this fabulous patient in the other room - knowing exactly who they were talking about. The power her presence had on perfect strangers was awesome to see. What a glorious thing to know how you touched people who you never knew. I know hearts here ache yet our souls rejoice. May my 2 special memories/images that are always on my mind bring you more joy at knowing how much KK affected everyone who came into contact with her - even for just a moment. That was her treasured gift she gave to me, without any strings attached. Thank you KK. And Thank you Pastor and Family for the honor of having those moments with her.

I remember when I first had KK as my sunday school teacher. When it was time to leave the class, she gave each of us a hug and said "I love you! Have a nice day!". The orbituary was right, everyone was her best friend. In her class, no one was unloved, and no one was not given a hug. WHen we outgrew her class, we still found time to give her a hug, and when she was sick, we gave her hugs and requested a prayer for her. Even though we prayed for a miracle, God's will was to take her home. Don't blame God, instead rejoice in her life an live on normally until we, one day, see her cancer free and shining.

I remember when I first had KK as my sunday school teacher. When we left the room, she gave each of us a hug and said " I love you! Have a good day!" From that day on, all the kids and I in my class shared a special bond with her. It's true when the obituary stated that "everyone became her 'best friend'. No one was ignored in her class, and no one was not given a hug when they left. When we grew up from here class, we still gave her hugs. I will never forget her and always hold her dear to my heart.

Dear Jerry, Laura, Carlene and Kevin,
Karen was. Karen IS! She touched my heart and life, and I will miss her more than I can say.
Karen was my prayer partner. She was my "life-balancer." Let me explain that last one.
Whenever I could I visited her; many times it was just me and the dog. I'd talk, she'd listen, and then she'd bring a perspective to many of the things I was dealing with that seemed to make me feel I had come back to center ... her thoughts would remind me that "all things are possible with God."
I'm thankful I got to know her a little better over the last few years. Memories of KK will bless me all the days of my life ... and keep me balanced.
Love you all, Q

Pastor, Laura and family, to loose a child is no doubt one of the most hurtful "events" in a parents life. They are supposed to out live us. Nothing can prepare a heart, even knowing it is inevitable. KK inspired so many including us. We will miss her until...please accept our condolences and prayers during this time. We love you all.

Was there ever a more cheerful and loving woman than Karen? Even though she was in her last illness most of the time we knew her, she always had a beaming smile and an affectionate word. She bore her illness with grace and dignity, and, most of all, she was a testimony to how to live the Christian life. We both sorrow at her death and are grateful for her life.

Her journey in the end was rough, but her landing was smooth. Karen taught us that several years ago. We hope that she is now following her number one rule of having "lots and lots of fun" in heaven for all of eternity.
We love her and her whole family!
