Marvin N. Harrelson

Chesapeake - Marvin Ned Harrelson, 70, of Chesapeake passed away on December 21, 2015.

Mr. Harrelson was born in Shelby, NC February 4, 1945 to the late Marvin R. and Annie M. Harrelson.

Ned served in the U.S. Army for three years. He worked at VEPCO for over 25 years. He worked for Virginia Natural Gas for 13 years. Ned was currently employed by the City of Virginia Beach Public Schools. He was involved with the Rotary Club. He was an active member at Great Bridge United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and Masters Men Choir.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Mary Harrelson; daughter, Pam Kanstoroom (David); son, Brian Harrelson (Jill); grandchildren, Madison and Peyton Kanstoroom, Taylor and Aaron Harrelson; brother, Joe Harrelson; sisters, Phyllis Sweezy and Janice Brackett.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Great Bridge United Methodist Church, 201 Stadium Drive

Chesapeake, VA 23322.

A reception will be held after the memorial service in the Church Social Hall. Friends are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.

Mary and family, our hearts go out to you all. Ned was the best neighbor we could have ever asked to live beside and will be sadly missed. He is running with Barney, Beau, and Bentley now in the ever-green, weed-free grass.
