Richard Oglesby Obituary
Chesapeake - Richard "Chicken Man" Oglesby, 62, went to be with the Lord May 9, 2017. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 40 years, Sally Oglesby; his children, Richard Oglesby, Jr., Brian Oglesby and Tracey & Jeremy Reynolds; his granddaughter, Haley; his mother, Margaret Oglesby; and two brothers, Mark and A.T. Oglesby.
Richard served as proprietor of the Golden Skillet in Portsmouth most of his life and was truly dedicated to this loyal staff and customers. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and mentor.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Rescue Church (Bethany Baptist) on Portsmouth Blvd. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel Friday from 6-8 p.m.
