Mr. Carroll and Mrs Carroll always treated me like I was one of the kids. I probably spent as many waking hours at their home as my own. So I got to see and hear Mr Carroll jn action. Often times making Tom and I wonder out loud if his story was real or was he just setting us up!? He really was quite the storyteller and his yarns were epic. But, even though I bet he would be embarrassed by my sharing it, I have to say there was also a very gentle and caring side to him, as well. For example, he always took time to ask me how I was doing or if I was hungry. He would share whatever he was making with me. I am a tamale eater today because of him! I know I probably drove him nuts at time, but he only kicked me out of the house a couple times...deservedly. I know he is smiling down on us. He will be sorely missed. God bless you Mr. C.
