Rodney Beckwith Obituary
Virginia Beach - Mr. Rodney Eugene Beckwith, age 72 of Boydton, died Saturday, October 22 at his home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Beckwith of the home; four daughters, Daunice & Raymond Hover, Joadi Lopez, Michelle Beckwith and Terri & Matthew Nozzarella all of Virginia Beach and a sister, Faye & Jose' Pina' of Conewango Valley, NY. Also surviving are ten grandchildren., ten great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many honorary children who all loved him dearly.
Mr. Beckwith was retired after 22 years in the US Navy where he served as a Chief Yeoman and also retired from NSWDG after 20 years.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 10:30 Thursday, October 27 at Farrar Funeral Home in South Hill followed by a 2 pm graveside service at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA. The family will receive friends from 10-10:30am on Thursday. Online condolences may be placed at www.farrarfuneralhome.net. Farrar Funeral Home of South Hill is serving the family.

I miss you papa and i always will when ever every one would come to the lake house we would jump in to your arms and you would ask us how we wanted our eggs and i miss that a lot and till this day i cry because of your death and so dose amaiya, deauna, selena, nana, shaileen, and everyone else papa we love you and miss you and we always will... I'm saddened to hear of Rod's passing, and have fond memories of working for him at NSWDG. He was a great boss, but an even better family man. Fair winds and following seas, Rod. You will be missed. My condolences, thoughts and prayers for Gloria and other family members.

It was an honor to work for and know Rod for many years, until his retirement at NSW. I am glad I was able to see and talk to him at last years Family Day Picnic which was a real joy for both of us. Prayers to Family and Friends. "Fair Winds and Following Seas" Rod Beckwith!
