Sharon Kay Carter
Norfolk - Sharon Kay Carter, 62, went to be with the Lord on June 11, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Cecil V. Stephens and Mary Frances Winslow Stephens. She was a member of First United Methodist Church Luxembourg Avenue, Norfolk. Sharon was a graduate of Old Dominion University with a master's degree and was a Kindergarten teacher for many years at Sherwood Forest Elementary School in Norfolk. She also used to work in her parents business E. Ray Howell Opticians.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Elizabeth A. Carter.
The family will receive friends at Graham Funeral Home, Chesapeake; on Wednesday June 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial Donations may be made to The American Brain Tumor Association. To leave a message to the family you may visit her website at www.grahamfuneralhome.com

Sharon was a good classmate from Lakewood Elementary School through Maury High School.
I remember her fondly as an excellent student, and one who was humble yet gracious and friendly to everyone.
My deepest sympathy to her daughter and to the family.
