Thomas Lis Obituary
Born May 23, in Palmer, Massachusetts he was the son of the late Frederick Lis and Marion Fitzgerald Lis. He was also predeceased by his wife Jane Kelly Lis of Norfolk, Virginia. Tom was a U.S. Air Force / Mass Air Guard Veteran. He retired after 30 years of service as a Nuclear Engineer from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He will be remembered as a fisherman, golfer, cribbage player, and an avid Red Sox fan, who was always up for a good joke. Most of all he was a devoted family man who loved his wife of 42 years. He was very proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Tom is survived by his three children Kelly Houlihan (John), Lee Brinn (Elizabeth), and Jesse Lis (Lauren), as well as six grandchildren, Nicholas, Maggie, Nolan, Jake, Jack and Anna, along with his five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five siblings.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023 at St. Stephen, Martyr Roman Catholic Church. A reception will follow.
A Christian Wake Service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday May 24, 2023 with the family receiving friends until 6:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Martyr Roman Catholic Church, Chesapeake.

I had the pleasure of working with Tom at Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a great person, with a great sense of humor and always there to help in any way he could.
My condolences to all of Tom's family and friends, he will be missed by many! RIP my friend.

An all around incredible human being of the utmost integrity and humor; my life has been blessed by his friendship. Prayers to Tom´s family and friends. We´ve lost one of the very best and I´ll miss him for the rest of my life. God speed.
