William Powell Obituary

William Jesse Powell, Jr., 76, passed away December 17, 2021. He was born in Suffolk, VA the son of the late William Jesse Powell, Sr. and Margaret Ilene Wiggins Powell. He was predeceased by his sister, Vicki Ricks. William retired as a Battalion Chief for the Suffolk Fire Department. He loved golfing, bowling, fishing, archery, and hunting. William is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret Lee Reeves Powell; daughter, Sherri Babb (Terry); sons, William "Troy" Powell (Ginger), and Kenneth Powell (Tracy); grandchildren, Tyler Powell, Kayla Babb, Abby Babb, Harlee Powell, Kendle Powell; sister, Terry Lynn Dillard (Barry); brother, Ray Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service with Fireman Rites will be held Monday, December 20, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Holly Lawn Cemetery with Rev. David Sexton officiating. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation Sunday from 5-7 p.m. at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences may be registered online at www.parrfuneralhome.com.
