William Wood Obituary
Virginia Beach - William Vincent Wood, 47, passed away on March 18, 2014. Vince was a loved member of the William E. Wood Real Estate family and is survived by his three children, Breck, Freeman and Sydney, his mother Linda, and his sister Sara along with her husband Eddie. Vince is predeceased by his father William Breckinridge Wood.
Vince had a heart that was as big as his booming voice. Nothing, besides classic vinyl made him happier than giving to the ones he loved. Five minutes spent with Vince listening to his favorite stories and knowledge of Rock and Roll history was enough to brighten anyone's day; he made fast friends with anyone that he came into contact with.
Vince was truly a unique soul who will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations should be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
There will be a visitation held on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments located at 2002 Laskin Road. The funeral will take place at Spring Branch Community Church, located at 1500 N. Great Neck Rd. on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., the burial will follow at Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. As a special way to honor Vince and his eclectic spirit, we invite anyone who wishes, to join us in wearing tie-dye and bright colors to the funeral. It is hard to believe it has been 5 years since I have heard that laugh or seen that smile. He was a unique individual, and even when he would drive you crazy you could not help but love him and want to put your arms around him. I know I will see him again one day. I am so sorry to hear this. My heart is heavy and full. I'm so grateful to have wonderful memories from church and to have been able to share EYC and my beloved Camp Chanco with him. His spirit was so big and heart heart and laughter even bigger.
