Charles Courtway Obituary
HENRY - Charles "Chalk" Courtway, 74, of Henry died on Saturday, December 29, 2018, at Heartland Healthcare in Henry.
Born on January 3, 1943, in Richwoods, MO, to the late Ray and Rena Boyer Courtway, he married Neva Easton on March 12, 1966.
Chalk served in the Army, then came home and became a machinist at Caterpillar for over 30 years, where he was also a member of UAW Local 974. He loved working on cars, fishing and hunting, even the elusive Morell.
Chalk is survived by his wife, Neva; stepmother, Pearl Courtway of Missouri; sons, David (Monica), Doug and Timothy (Mindy), all of Henry; siblings, Norman Kane of Arkansas, Floyd (Kay) of Spring Bay, Lester (Sandy) of Sparland, Rob (Karen) of Spring Bay, Jerry (Patti) of Victoria, Bert (Connie) of Spring Bay, Rebecca (Brian) Mulvaney of Norwood, Mike (Donna) of Toulon and Annea Courtway of Missouri; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 3, at 6:30 p.m. at Lenz Memorial Home in Lacon, with Bob Murphy officiating. Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., before the service. Burial will be in the Henry Cemetery at a later date and memorial contributions can be made to the Heartland Activity Fund.
