Doug Ziegler Obituary
SPARLAND - Doug Ziegler, 49, of rural Sparland passed away Friday afternoon, June 22, 2012, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on Nov. 15, 1962, in Peoria, Ill., to George and Lillian (Gibbs) Ziegler. He married Amy McMillen on Nov. 8, 1986, in Henry, Ill.
Doug is survived by his wife, Amy; two sons, Zach Ziegler, at home, and Patrick Shaw of Plainfield, Ill.; one daughter, Linda (Mike) Waters of Dunlap; four nieces, Katie (Brian) DuBois, Dr. Kristi (Peter) Ray, Karli Waters and Kerrianne Waters; three nephews, Jeff Whited, John (Amanda) Whited and Jeremy Whited; two great-nephews, Layne Whited and Evan DuBois; father-in-law, John (Kay) McMillen; one aunt, Vivian Miller of Tennessee; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Judy McMillen.
Doug attended Henry-Senachwine High School.
He worked at M&D Printing until he went to work at the family business at the Henry News Republican. Doug and wife Amy bought the business in 1997 upon his parent's retirement.
Services will be held at Lenz Memorial Home on Thursday, June 28, at 11 a.m., with Dan Smith officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will follow in Lacon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Henry Food Pantry or the American Cancer Society Patient Services.

Our prayers are with you! Doug will be missed! I talked to doug last weekend at the sheriffs office and he was up beat and ready to get this done and get back to life!! We are all very sad!!!
