Marjorie "Marge" Norine (Shirck) Parks
PEORIA - Marjorie "Marge" Norine (Shirck) Parks, 93, of South Pasadena, FL, formerly of Peoria, died on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Marjorie was born on May 11, 1928, in St. Paul, MN, and graduated from The University of Minnesota in 1949. She married Felix Gilbert "Gil" Parks in 1949 and moved to Peoria, IL.
Marge was a school teacher for five years, teaching children with Polio at local hospitals. She raised four children and volunteered her time to many organizations, including the Girl Scouts, Methodist Hospital Service League, Kings Daughters and the First Presbyterian Church, where she was an active member. Marge and Gil were members of Mt. Hawley Country Club, where they enjoyed golfing and traveling. Marjorie and Gil permanently moved to Florida in 1997, where they joined Pass-a-Grille Beach Community Church. Here, she continued her dedication to volunteering, helping with the Church Thrift Shop, Vacation Bible School and the Women's Group.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gil Parks.
Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Katie) Parks of Charlotte, NC, and David (Kimberly) Parks of Woodstock, GA; two daughters, Susan (Nelvin) Wade of Bradenton, FL, and Janet Petty of South Pasadena, FL; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 25, at Pass-A-Grille Beach Community Church, 107 16th Ave., St. Pete Beach, FL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Marjorie's honor to Pass-A-Grille Community Church Youth Ministries or Suncoast Hospice.

What fun memories I have of being with the Parks family! From sleep overs to boating to Girl Scouts and paper routes...Marge did it all and more. Usually with a smile and a laugh. Loved knowing her.....the angels are rejoicing!
