MORTON - Michael D. Petersen, 47, of Morton passed away at 10:36 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 8, 1967, in Peoria, the son of Myron "Mike" and Martha "Marty" Price Petersen. He married Dayna Williams Gunn on Sept. 17, 2013, in Pekin, and she survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Morton; one son, Drew Petersen, one daughter, Devin Petersen, one sister, Angela Deal, and one brother, Jason (Kari) Petersen, all of Bartonville; three nieces; and one nephew.
His father preceded him in death.
Mike was employed at the Cast Technologies in Peoria for many years.
Michael fought a brave fight battling lung cancer and also pancreatic cancer.
He had many interests in life including fishing, reading and watching movies. He was an amazing and loving man and will be missed by all.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private family services will be held at a later date. Affordable Funeral & Cremation Services of Central Illinois is assisting with arrangements.
