DUNLAP - Robert (Bob) F. Woerner, 85, of Dunlap died on July 15, 2014, at his home in Dunlap.
He was born on Aug. 8, 1928, in Peoria to Fred and Dorothy (Sauder) Woerner. He married Jacqueline Peppard in Peoria on Dec. 18, 1949.
Bob is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; two daughters, Debra Sue (Jeff) Landis of Pekin and Susan Lynn (Dale) Witherington of St. Paul, Minn.; one sister, Margaret Smith of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Don Woerner of Peoria; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Sean Woerner.
He graduated from Manual High School and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Bradley University. He spent the rest of his working life at Caterpillar Inc., as the division manager of the financial services division. He retired in 1990 after 40 years of service.
Bob and his wife have belonged to Grace Presbyterian Church for 50 years. During his time there, he served as an elder from 1987 to 2007, and was involved in Bible studies. He enjoyed spending his free time with his family and friends.
A funeral service for Bob will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, located at 8607 N. State Route 91 in Peoria at 11 a.m. today, July 18, 2014. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the church. A graveside service will be held at Parkview Cemetery. Pastors Doug Lightly and Dale Witherington will officiate.
Memorial donations in honor of Bob may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church or South Side Mission.
