Roger Lelm Obituary

GERMANTOWN HILLS - Roger A. Lelm, 38, of Germantown Hills passed away at 5:51 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, in the emergency room of Graham Hospital in Canton, Ill.

He was born on July 25, 1972, in Peoria, the son of Gary E. and Nancy J. (Thomson) Lelm. He married Margaret A. Legg, the daughter of Charles and Maria (Vera) Legg, on June 12, 1999, in Bloomington, Ill.

Surviving are his wife and their two children, Ansley A. Lelm and Aiden A. Lelm, both at home. His parents of Germantown Hills as well as one sister, Julie (Scott) Thompson of Goshen, Ky.; two nieces, Jordyn and Lauryn Thompson; and his beloved dog, Addison, also survive him.

Both his paternal and maternal grandparents preceded him in death.

He worked as a precision tool specialist for 15 years at Sanders Tool & Supplies in Peoria.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, outdoorsman and scuba diver.

He was a devoted husband and father, and especially took pleasure in spending time on St. Augustine Beach, Fla., with his family.

He was of the Lutheran faith.

Funeral services for Roger will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Mason Funeral Home in Metamora, with the Rev. Clark Killingsworth officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home, as well as 30 minutes prior to services on Tuesday. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an Education Fund for Ansley and Aiden Lelm established at Heartland Bank and will be accepted at any of the Heartland Bank locations.
