Skip Carlton Obituary
BRIMFIELD - Ellis D. "Skip" Carlton, 77, of Brimfield died at 3:28 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
He was born Aug. 30, 1936, in Norris, Ill., to Ellis C. and Wilda Vance Carlton. He married Ruth Druley on Jan. 12, 1958, in Delavan, Ill.
He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 56 years; his daughters, Cindy (Ricky) Smith of Delta, Colo., Cheryl (Greg) Lyons of Washington and Amy (Rob) Holtsclaw of Athens, Ill.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Wilbur (Sibyl) Carlton of Winnemucca, Nev.; his twin sister, Alice Forrest of Yates City; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents; infant brother, Gary; and his brother's daughter, Vicki, preceded him in death.
Skip was a 1954 graduate of Canton High School and attended Western Illinois University.
He served his nation in the United States Army Reserve.
He was assistant treasurer for Sprinkmann Insulation Peoria for 36 years.
His family wishes to thank the staff of OSF Hospice and Richard L. Owens Hospice Home for their care and kind compassion during his time of need.
Cremation rites have been accorded with a private burial of ashes for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
