Stanley Strickler Obituary
PEORIA - Stanley M. Strickler, 74, of Peoria passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on November 7, 1946, in Peoria to Orvel and Marguerite Fuchs Strickler. His parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons, Geoffrey (Erika) Strickler and Nathaniel (Ava) Strickler; grandchildren, Clara, Thea, Zoe and Zev; sister, Velma Crowley; and former wife, Dorothy Strickler.
Stan served in the U.S. Army and worked as an English Teacher for Stark County High School, retiring in 2003. He directed the plays and coached the Speech Team.
Stan loved his family. He was very involved with his church, where he served as an Elder. He also served on the Christian Education, Session and Worship and Arts committees. He loved plays, musicals and reading.
Cremation has been accorded and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021, with visitation one hour prior, at United Presbyterian Church, 2400 W. Northmoor Road, Peoria, IL 61614.
The Cremation Society of Mid-Illinois Co., Pekin/Peoria, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at csmico.com.

Mr. Strickler was a favorite teacher of many. Wyoming and Stark County students were fortunate to have him as a teacher. RIP

Whether at a men´s breakfast, book club, or a conversation after church, Stan was upbeat and personable. I admired his willingness to help lead the Stephen´s Ministry. It was a major time commitment. He will be greatly missed.

I was saddened to see Stan's obituary in the paper today. I teach at ICC and always enjoyed talking with Stan when I dropped off student materials at the Testing Center. He was always jovial with a great smile. I'm sorry for your family's loss. I'll miss him when I go to the office this fall.
