Anna Cannon Obituary

A memorial service for Anna May Cannon will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Pleasant Valley Manor, Snydersville.

Anna May passed away on July 3 at the Manor, where she was a resident.

Born in County Mayo, Ireland, on Dec. 11, 1912, Annie Mary Lee was the daughter of the late Patrick Lee and Kate Flannery. Annie was the eldest of six children of whom she outlived.

She immigrated to the United States on the SS Cedric and never returned home. Seventy years after her stay in America, a nephew and nieces were located. They are: Domenick Lee of Kent, England; Maureen Hall of London, England; Nora Lee of Kent, England; Winnie O'Hara of London; and Marian Edwards of Cambridge, England.

Anna May married the late Frank Cannon, who passed in 1992. They had one daughter and grandchildren in the States.

Along with her husband, she operated Can Quill Motel in East Stroudsburg for many years.

She will be greatly missed by her best friend and caregiver, Joyce B. Bush.
