Catherine Denaro Obituary

Catherine Denaro, 86, of Saylorsburg, formerly of Staten Island, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, June 30, at St. Luke's Hospital in Bethlehem.

Catherine was born in New York City on April 16, 1924, the daughter of the late Francesco and Antonetta (Battaglia) Denaro.

She had worked as a seamstress in the Garment Industry in New York City for 30 years, retiring in 1981.

She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.

We are thankful for Catherine's presence in our lives and for the way her love has touched our hearts forever. She will be missed deeply by her brother, Frank Denaro of Hollywood, Fla.; nieces and nephews: James Denaro and his wife, Regina, of Saylorsburg, whom Catherine resided with for 24 years, Frank Denaro and his wife, Debra, of Princeton Junction, N.J., Joseph Denaro and his wife, Diane, of Howard Beach, N.Y., Cathy Ann Cocchiola and her husband, Michael, of Easton, Francine D'Ambrosio and her husband, Robert, of Long Island, N.Y., and Anna Marie, Anthony and Richard A'damo; great-nieces and nephews: Jennifer, Brian, Joseph, Keri and Kevin Denaro, Michael Cocchiola and his wife, Tina, Matthew Cochiola and his wife, Amber, and Marc Cocchiola, and Lisa, Matthew and Michael D'Ambrosio; two great-great-nephews, Michael and Joseph Cocchiola; and one great-great-niece, Lauren Cocchiola.

Funeral services will begin 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the Donald N. Gower Funeral Home, Route 209, Gilbert, followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Gilbert.

Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 5, at the funeral home. Additional viewing will be held from 8 to 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, at the funeral home.

Catherine will be interred at St. John's Cemetery in Middle Village, N.Y.
