David Shebelsky Obituary

David Renn Shebelsky, 52, of Shamokin all his life, died on Saturday, Dec. 3, in Ralpho Township.

He was born on June 27, 1953, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, a son of Nicholas J. and Florence Renn Shebelsky of Shamokin. He and his wife, the former Sherri Clark, were married Aug. 27, 1977, at Clark's Grove United Methodist Church, RR1 Paxinos.

He was a 1971 graduate of Shamokin Area High School and attended Penn State University.

Mr. Shebelsky was the president of Bader's Fine Furniture, Shamokin.

A devoted husband, father and son, he was a member of Clark's Grove United Methodist Church, where he was the chairperson of the administrative board and an administrative board trustee.

David was a past Cubmaster and Scoutmaster with Shamokin Troop 3254, was a coach in the Shamokin-Coal Township Little League Baseball; the Shamokin Area High School Bucket Club basketball volunteer; was a drummer for the Choraliers; and sponsored and bowled for Bader's Bowling Team at Crown Lanes, Shamokin.

He was an avid hunter and sportsman and enjoyed whitewater rafting and golfing.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of more than 28 years, and his parents, are three sons, Ryan Shebelsky and his fiancee, Amanda Matzura, of Mountaintop and James and Andrew Shebelsky, both at home; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert A. and Susan C. Shebelsky of Shawnee-on-Delaware; and his sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Maurice Stewart of Lincolnshire, England, UK; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 9, at Clark's Grove United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Daniel M. Siddle, pastor of Clark's United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery in Irish Valley.

Visitors may call from 10 a.m. today, until the time of the funeral at the church.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Clark's Grove United Methodist Church, RR 1 Paxionos.
