Francis Fagan Obituary

Francis (Frank) Fagan, 68, of Newfoundland, died Wednesday, March 28, at his home.

He was the husband of Ethel Donahue Fagan.

He was born in Philadelphia, the son of the late John and Ella Handreu Fagan.

He resided in Newfoundland for the past 31 years and, prior to that, in Horsham.

Frank was employed as a custodian at the South Elementary School of the Wallenpaupack School District for 23 years prior to his retirement due to illness in 2006.

He attended the Church of St. Anthony of Padua; was a former member of Post 859 American Legion in Newfoundland; and was one of the organizers of Newfoundland Little League, where he was also a coach.

He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and baseball. In his spare time he did furniture upholstering.

His greatest love was his family.

Frank served his country as a member of the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1958.

In addition to his wife, Ethel, he is survived by two sons, Brian Fagan and Michael Fagan, both of Newfoundland; a granddaughter, Kacie Lynn Fagan of Newfoundland; and a brother, Joseph Fagan of Altoona.

He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Fagan, and two brothers, Raymond and Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, April 2, in the Church of St. Anthony of Padua, Newfoundland. Cremation will follow the service. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, April 1, at the Arthur J. Frey Funeral Home, Route 191, Village of LaAnna, South Sterling, PA 18460.
