Alice Marie Crary Powell Craycraft went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Craycraft; mother, Helen McCann Cray Lind; father, Ray Crary and step-father, Gilbert Lind; as well as two brothers Ray Wynn Crary and William J. Cray.
She was born November 9, 1947 in Madison, Wisconsin. She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Rains of Brookfield, Illinois; one brother, Donald Lind of Las Vegas, Nevada; her son, Andrew (Beverly) Powell of Portsmouth; Victoria Powell of Warsaw, Kentucky, and Jason (Kristi) Craycraft of Rosemount; five grandchildren: Shadd King, Jennifer Cunningham, Andrea Powell, Christopher Cunningham and David Craycraft; three step-grandchildren: Melissa (Dwayne) Shugert, Cera (Ryan) Wymer and Amy (Emmanuel) Connally; two great-grandsons: Gabriel Holt and Landyn Newton; eight step-great-grandchildren, Joe, Isaiha, Grace, Joel and Malachi Shugert, Emmanuel and Isabella Connally and Dax Wymer. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
She worked as a medical transcriptionist at Southern Ohio Medical Center for many years and prior to that at Southern Ohio Correctional facility as supervisor of secretarial services. She also worked for many local physicians transcribing their office dictation.
She was a member of Sandhill Christian Baptist Church in Wheelersburg. When she moved to Portsmouth, she attended Calvary Chapel. She loved the Lord and enjoyed serving Him and sharing Him with others; often stating to those she'd meet that that she did not know how she would make it through life without Him.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2017 at Lifepoint Church.
Please come and share your memories with the family. All are welcome.

My sympathy and prayers for Alice's family. She sure loved you and was very proud.
I am going to miss our Facebook connection. I sent her pics of quilts and old lady jokes. She was such a fun friend. I just left a voicemail Sat. I have a letter from 1990 from her. If I get an address I could send it to a family member.Enjoyed keeping in touch with Christmas cards through the years. Alice was a majorette and I marched in Morton's band in Hammond. I still live 4 streets from her old house on Parrish.
