HAROLD L. CAREY
PORTSMOUTH-Harold Lewis Carey, 84, of Portsmouth, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in Chillicothe.
Born January 25, 1932, a son of the late Samuel and Lakie (Woodruff) Carey, he was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by a son, Harold Lewis Carey of Columbus; a daughter, Cindy Renee Carey of Virginia; two stepdaughters, Kathy (William) Mongomery of Minford, Ardena (Glenn) Fannin of Deland, FL; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, Clara Belle Taylor of Hilliard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zell Carey on January 27, 2011, and a brother Floyd Carey.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Chris Clark officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday. Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A.
