Franklin Delayne "Red" Banks

Banks, Franklin Delayne "Red" Age 55, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013. He was a resident of Gary, Indiana formerly of Hammond, Indiana. He was a graduate of Hammond Technical Vocational School, Class of 1976 and attended the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky and Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a former employee of Pullman Steel, C and S Motors and he was the owner and operator of The Escalade Lounge in Hammond. He was a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Frank was preceded in death by his stepmother, Connie Banks; sisters, Sherry Banks and Tina Banks, and brother, Antonio Banks. He is survived by his wife, Frankie Banks of Hammond; children, Franklin Banks III of Hammond (Hessville); MaKenya Banks of Queens, New York; Corey Smith of Hammond; Donte Stribling of Abilene, Texas; Kevin Jones of Columbus, Ohio and Kim Askew of Indianapolis, Indiana; father, Franklin Banks of Hammond; mother, Lulabelle Davis of Hammond; sisters, Brenda (Maurice) Aldridge of Keller, Texas; Martha Clopton of Hammond; Shirley "Frankie" Banks of Hammond; Felicia (Henry) Jones of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Tiffanny (James) Hooks of Portage, Indiana; Pamela Banks of Memphis, Tennessee and Sharon Davis of Flint, Michigan; brothers, Steve Davis of Hammond; Joshua Banks of Gary, Indiana; Terry Banks of San Diego, California and Bobby Davis of Ohio; five grandchildren, Alonzo Banks, Estevan Banks and Ariana Banks, all of Hammond; Kim and Kayla Jones of Gary, Indiana. Visitation Friday, August 16, 2013 1-9 p.m. (family hour 7-9) at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1117 Merrill Street, Hammond, Indiana. Funeral service Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11 a.m., New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Pastor Herman Polk, officiating. Burial Fern Oak Cemetery, Griffith, Indiana.
