Tommie L. Dennie, 63, departed this life on Tuesday, May 2,2017. He was born April 11th 1954 to parents, John and Maggie Dennie. Tommie loved the game of basketball and ruled on the courts. He played basketball for Westside High School in the late 60's. He also served in the Army Reserves. He lived life and loved it to the fullest. He is preceded by his parents, John M. and Maggie Dennie of Gary, IN; brother, Michael D. Dennie of Gary, IN. He will be lovingly remembered by his three sons, Donnie Bankhead of Chicago, IL(Rhonda Renee Bankhead) of Gary, IN, Bill Dennie(Connie Steward) of Gary, IN, Tommie Dennie, Jr.(Tonya Cookie Stuckey) (U.S.Army) of Texas; daughter, Taionne Harper of Gary, IN. His brothers, John E. Dennie (Mary Dennie) of Jackson, TN and Calvin S. Dennie of Gary, IN. His sisters, Martha Miles (Willie Bolden) of Gary, IN, Vanessa Francis of Gary, IN, Patricia Green (Johnnie Green) of Gary, IN, Michelle Dennie (Michael Washington) of Gary, IN; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. The viewing will be held May 11th at 9am and his Homegoing will be held at 11 am at Powell and Coleman, 3200 W. 15th Ave., Gary, IN 46404.
