Carol Elwood Obituary

Elwood, Carol (Baldauf)

Carol Elwood, 81, passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth Hospital on October 26, 2014 after a very long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 8, 1933, daughter of Henry and Florence Baldauf. She was a loving wife and mother. She married the love of her life, George, on March 6, 1954. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this past year and were hoping for many more.

Carol is survived by her husband, George; daughters: Julie (Jeff) Laabs and Vickie (Dave) Davidson; grandchildren: Adam and Brian Davidson, and Rebecca Laabs; also a great-grandson, Kameron Gruenstern.

A Memorial Service for Carol will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Nancy Richards for all of the love and support she showed Mom in taking her to almost all of her appointments over the years. Also for lending an ear whenever Mom needed her.

Also, a special thanks to Dr. Goggins, Jennifer, Sara, and the staff of Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology as well as the staff at Island Shores for all of the care and compassion given to her for the last couple of years, and the continued care and compassion given to George now and in the future. George's care was Carol's greatest concern.

Thank you, also, to the St. E's staff who took very good care of her while there, and to Affinity Hospice for their care in her final days.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.

Elwood family. Words come hard at these times. Carol was always one of Elizabeth's favorite neighbors. The "old neighborhood" is slowly passing. Take good care of George. He must be devastated. Our Lord will see you all through this. Take care. Jack Pazen

Julie and Vickie, you and your family are in our prayers, I will never forget while visiting the love she showed you and the fun she shared with us. I made sure she got to meet our daughter when we visited when Erin was 2, I could see the how much she enjoyed the visit. I was proud to have been a part of her life, and she will continue to be in our prayers
