Dorothy Koffarnus Obituary

Dorothy A. Koffarnus, age 81, of Hilbert, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Dorothy was born on April 21, 1934 in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Gerhard Sr. and Rachel (Wenzel) Lau. On October 20, 1956, she was united in marriage to Ralph Koffarnus at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brillion. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2008. Dorothy was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Hilbert, participating in the Ladies Aid. She was employed by Fromageries Bel for many years. Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. She also enjoyed playing cards and other games. Dorothy also loved cooking, baking, and gardening. She had a kind heart and was always helping others.

She will be sadly missed by her five children: Debbie (Mike) Bursack of Menasha, Jayne (Dan)Rogney of Appleton, Jim (Mary Beth) Koffarnus of Hilbert, Julie (Greg) Pritzl of Appleton, and Bob (Sandi) Koffarnus of Brillion; grandchildren: Jared and Justin Bursack, Melissa (Andy) Fulcer, Marc and Michael Rogney, Joe Koffarnus, Adam, Rachel, Emily, and Ben Pritzl, Derek and Jake Koffarnus, and Jessica Draheim; great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Mason Fulcer; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Phyllis (Wayne) Koffarnus and Erdine (Roger) Schultz, one brother and two sisters-in-law: Alex (Elaine) Lau and Carolyne Lau; Ralph's family: Alvin Koffarnus, Vera Smallcombe, Elaine Giese, and Kay Koffarnus; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Ralph, one brother: Gerhard Lau, Jr., one sister: Emogene Lau, father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Helena (Lautenschlaeger) Koffarnus; five brothers-in-law: Elmer, Norbert, Rueben, Roman, and Gerald Koffarnus, and three sisters-in-law: Esther Muesegades, Mildred Helstrom, and Lucille Flemming.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 43 3rd Street, in Hilbert. The Rev. Timmothy Heath will officiate. Burial will be in St. Peter Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:45 p.m.

You were a loving Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. We love you and will miss you dearly.
