She is survived by her children: Dan (Tammy) LaMarche, Laurie (Don) Carlton, Jan (Mike) Russert, Sarah (Mark) Sickinger, Beth Ombati, Jill Balthazor, and Nathan (Katie) Balthazor; grandchildren: Davis, Marcus, Sawyer, Olivia, Elizabeth, Everett, Ethan, Davina, Kendra, Sarena, Maya, Raelyn, Bryce and Madeline; siblings: Margaret Hutchison, Tom Hutchison, Mary (Ray) LeBrun, Bill (Darlene) Hutchison, Judy (Bob) Fischer, Nancy Schlafer, Dave (Kathy) Hutchison. She is further survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Roberta (Jim) Prunty; sister-in-law Marian Hutchison; and a brother-in-law Frank Schlafer.

The Funeral Mass for Betty will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. I only know Betty as one who crossed paths with her as we both are substitute teachers, but we had many conversations about our day and shared insights on particular classes. I will remember her big smile in a compact housing.

My heartfelt condolences to the family on your loss. Living to be almost 80 years of age is amazing. It sounds like she had a very fulfilling life. Please know that God has promised more. He promised that the meed ones in the future will live on the earth forever and ever. (Psalms 37:11) May God grant you guidance, strength and peace during your time of sorrow.
