Kathryn Schmidt Obituary
Kathryn A. Schmidt, age 49 of Appleton, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, June 4, 2013. On March 19, 1964, Kathryn Ann was born in Menasha the daughter of the late Werner and Lorraine (Kica) Fahl. Kathy was a graduate of Menasha High School, class of 1983. She was united in marriage to Glenn Schmidt on November 28, 1986 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Neenah. Kathy had great organizational skills and exceeded in everything she did. She was always in great demand from her co-workers and family. Kathy had just started her garden for the summer. She loved growing vegetables and then pickling them. She was a support system for her family, a rock that kept everyone together no matter what was going on. Kathy will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 26 years; their children: Christopher and Jennifer; her brothers: Ron Fahl, Jim (Kathy) Fahl, Bob (Ann) Fahl, Tom Fahl; her sisters: Mary (Ty) Wagner and Nancy (Alan) Brush; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: George and Molly Schmidt; brothers-in-law: Michael Schmidt and Steven (Paula) Schmidt; sisters-in-law: Mary Jo Schmidt and Carol Schmidt; many other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Stephanie; a brother-in-law, Danny Schmidt; and a sister-in-law, Becky Fahl.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha, with Rev. Bryan Schmidt officiating. The Memorial Gathering will be held from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

I just heard of the loss of Kathy I'm extremely saddened and shocked by the news Kathy has come into our salon for years and I used to be her hairstylist She was an awesome person very funny and very caring mother Really enjoyed talking with her many times I got to do her hair Blessings to the family She will never be forgotten

I am so sorry for your loss. I had the pleasure of working with Kathy over the last year and a half at Kimberly-Clark. Kathy was such a ray of sunshine and always had a positive attitude. She loved her family and radiated when she talked about them. She was a great lady! I will miss her very much!

I had the pleasure of knowing Kathy when she worked for Aurora Health Care, Oshkosh. I always enjoyed her spirit and willingness to help out whenever needed.She was a very kind soul. Im truly sorry for your lost. I have worked with Kathy for short time of less than 2 years but I want your family to know, Kathy was very proud of her children and she talked about her family that came 1st . In respect, she told me she was speciality happy doing work for Kimberly Clark sales reps and was learning so much about our pain management specialty. Kathy was a very important part of my NJ/NY/PA healthcare network which we talked by email frequently each week. As a caring person she was, last July, she research WebMD to help me during maneuvers for my vertigo has she had the same issues. She was a special person.

I wanted to say how deeply sorry I am to hear of the loss of Kathryn. I know she will be missed deeply. Although I wasn't able to get to know her I do know her sister Mary. I know whenever we lose someone who is dear to our heart they are always missed, and the memories of Love and laughter are common. I know she was loved by many but most of all our Lord in Heaven. I once heard from a wonderful pastor "I don't know why God takes our Angels home with him so soon, but I do know that we will all meet back in heaven soon and for Eternity." Can you imagine? Eternity? I don't know about you but I can't even wrap my head around that concept. Even though our lives here on Earth is short, It fails in comparison to what we all have in store passed those Pearly Gates of Heaven where Kathryn and all her loved ones will all meet and be a family again. The beauty that God has created here on Earth is magnificent, and Glorious, I don't know about all of you but I can only imagine if Earth is this beautiful what Heaven will be like. Come to think about it Heaven isn't so Far off from anyone of us, really just a few short moments in time, and we will all be united. I hope and pray that our Heavenly Father is with each and every one of you, holding you up and drying your tears in this time of need. Giving comfort to all those who loved Katheryn with his amazing peace and love. God gave us many Things. Among them he gave us Faith, faith that he will never leave us, Hope, Hope that he will always be there in our time of need, And LOVE, unconditional LOVE that “whoever believe in him shall not die, but have eternal life”. Schmidt family. I had the opportunity to speak with Kathryn almost every day. She was such a great support to me as we worked togehter. Even though we only cooresponded by phone or email, I could always see her smile as in the picture provided each day as she laughed. She spoke of her famiily every time we talked. She was so happy to have a family like you, as she talked about each of you. She was my rock and support at Kimberly Clark and she will be greatly missed. I would leave her little snips of me singing different songs when I would get her voice mail and she would call back laughing and thanking me for lifting her spirits. Well today I sing "smile" by Josh Groban because I know she is in heaven looking down upon us with the smile of an Angel. Greatly missed she will be. Stay strong and keep your head high because she is a part of us all. We love you.
