Condolences to family, relatives and friends on your loss. I worked for Soo Line Railroad, was a member of the Soo Line Historical and Technical Society for some years, and after attending the 2011 Soo Line Medford WI employee/retiree picnic, volunteered cataloging collections at the archives building in Appleton WI. I worked with Larry & Margarets son on Soo Line in the late 1970s into the 1980s. RIP Larry

Larry and my dad, Ed Selinsky, were great friends and railroad buddies. The day of my dad's funeral 31 years ago Larry was scheduled for surgery. Because of their deep friendship, Larry cancelled his surgery to come to dad's funeral. That meant SO MUCH to me. He also wrote a beautiful tribute to my dad in a RR magazine shortly after dad's death. I laminated that whole magazine because his article touched me so deeply.

I think Larry and dad might be sharing railroad memories together again, starting right where they left off so many years ago.

Eternal joy to you, Larry!

I met Larry in 1996 when we were doing the Soo Line Historical Convention in Rhinelander. That first impression of this kind, knowledgeable gentleman stayed with me forever. We crossed paths regularly at train shows and conventions over the years, always with the same memory. I began my tenure on the Soo Historical Board a couple of years ago and had more time in my retirement to chat with Larry at the Archives about Rhinelander and the Soo. We will all miss that witty smile but rest assured that Larry is happy now with his wife. My condolences to the family. I regret that I will not be able to attend the memorial services in Neenah.

Larry was a dear friend of my dad, John Franzen. Every time Larry would visit my dad's train layout, he would leave behind some tiny animal figurine tucked away somewhere on the layout. Sometimes, it would take my dad days to find it, but Larry never slacked, it was always there. Over the years, my dad collected a zoo of animals from Larry. My dad always appreciated Larry's sense of humor, his quiet wisdom, and his friendship. My condolences to you!.....Margi Franzen Newhouse, Lucia Franzen (John's wife), and the entire Franzen family.
