Nicholas Vandenberg Obituary
Nick Vandenberg, 63, of Appleton, formerly of Shawano, passed away on Saturday October 4, 2014 at his home. Nick was born on February 14, 1951 in Appleton to Richard and Frieda (Skorie) Vandenberg. He spent his youth in Appleton, and graduated from Appleton East High school.
Nick was employed and retired from Voith Paper. He enjoyed working on motorcycles, hunting, and going to gun shows. Nick was a jack of all trades, always fixing something. Nick enjoyed cooking.
Nick is survived by his mother Frieda Vandenberg; children Nikki (John) Weaver, and Jacob Vandenberg; granddaughter Kitana Weaver; siblings; Harlan (Tammy) Vandenberg, Anne (Willie) Luedtke, Ellen (Jeffrey) Hager, Mark (Sandy) Vandenberg, Teresa (Rod) Freimuth, Rose (Bill) Adamietz, and Karen (Loren) Doxtater; his sister-in-law Beverly Vandenberg, and former wife Ellen Vandenberg. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his father and two brothers Patrick and Joseph (Linda) Vandenberg.
A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 222 E. Fremont St. Appleton, with Fr. Brian Wideman officiating. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 1:30 PM. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Thursday October 9, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
