Richard G. Singler

Shiocton - Richard George Singler, age 80, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 23, 2018 in his home, in the arms of his loving wife of 31 years, after a lengthy illness. Richard was born on October 17, 1938, to the late Milo C. and Eileen (Bush) Singler. He grew up on the family farm and lived his entire life in the Shiocton area. Richard graduated from Shiocton High School and attended the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. He worked in farming and construction until he started his own business, R.G. Singler Realty and Auction Service. He served as the chairman of the Town of Bovina for more than 25 years and was instrumental in the planning and construction of the new Bovina Town Hall. He was also a member of the Shiocton Business league and sponsored a baseball team to represent Singler Auction Sales. Richard was committed to making the community a better place to live. Richard was a lifelong, avid fisherman and could tell by looking at a lure, what kind of fish he caught on it and where. He especially enjoyed fishing with his family and friends in Shiocton, Agimac Camp in Ignace, Canada and deep water fishing in Englewood, FL. He was a generous and kind person to all who knew him. We will all miss him dearly and feel lucky to have had him in our lives.

Richard is survived by his wife, Diana (Mulroy) Singler; sons, Edwin (Tami) Singler and Robert (Stacy Leppla) Singler, both of Shiocton; grandchildren, Eric Singler, Los Angeles, CA, Ryan (Ashley), New London, Levi Singler, Oshkosh, Shyann Singler and Brett Singler, both of Shiocton and a very special, new great-grandson, Jace Richard Singler of New London; brother, Timothy (Mhaire) Singler, Port Townsend, WA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Karen (Will) Fischer, Englewood, FL, Mark (Colleen) Noack, New London, Patrick (Diane) Mulroy, Tampa, FL, Tom (Gloria) Mulroy, Lakewood, WI, Jerry (Judy) Mulroy, Merrill, WI and Donna (Tom) Opgennorth, Traveler's Rest, South Carolina. He is further survived by a very special cousin and dear friend, Fred Angeli and his extended family of Iron River, MI and also special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gail (Bruce) Brockett and Elizabeth Singler; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Frances Mulroy and brother-in-law, Gregory Mulroy.

A memorial service for Richard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton (N5645 State HWY 76). Rev. Greg Watling will be officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
