Robert Otto George Andre

Neenah - Robert Otto George Andre, age 91, of Neenah WI, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019. He was born in Spencer WI October 16, 1927 to the late Robert and Anna (Zuehlke) Andre. Robert graduated from Spencer High School in 1945. He helped operate the family farm until 1947. He enlisted in the USAF on August 10, 1948, serving four years in England. He spent six months finishing the Berlin Airlift, then served two years with a fire and crash rescue unit at a RAF Bomber Base in Norfolk, England. He received his honorable discharge in July 1952 at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix AZ. Upon returning home, he worked for the Farmers Co-op in Spencer, then American Motors in Milwaukee, returned to Spencer and worked six and a half years for Spencer Milk Products, a division of M&M Candies.

Robert married Doris Weihmuller of Loyal WI on October 29, 1955. They moved to Neenah in 1959 where he worked for 31 years at the Galloway Co. as production supervisor, retiring December 1990. He also served on the Neenah City Council for 15 years, serving first as Chairman of the Public Works Committee and later as Chairman of the Finance and Personnel Committee. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church of Neenah, having served on various boards and committees as well as Sunday School superintendent and Chairman of the congregation. He was also the Zone Chairman of the Lutheran Laymen's League. He was active in Neenah Little League and Senior League for 15 years. He worked as a volunteer at the Bethesda Thrift Store in Neenah for 20 years.

Robert is survived by his wife Doris; two sons: Timothy (Andrea) Andre of Appleton, Thomas Andre of Green Bay; two daughters: Jean (Ron) Rieboldt of West Allis, Jane Andre-Martindill of Neenah; grandsons: Zachary (Sara) Rieboldt, Jacob (Bobbi) Rieboldt, and Cooper Andre; granddaughters: Bethany (Chris) Litton, Leah Martindill, Olivia Martindill, Rebecca Rieboldt, Sadie Andre, and Hattie Andre; two great granddaughters: Natalie Litton and Chelsae Litton; one great grandson: Jaison Litton. He was preceded in death by his six sisters: Clara, Louise, Cora, Leota, Hilda, and Norma.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Peace Lutheran Church, 1228 S Park Ave, Neenah WI with Rev. Ricky Schroeder officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team following services.
