Craig M. Ellingford, 63, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Craig was born Aug. 28, 1947, in Idaho Falls to Mahlon W. Ellingford and Barbara Ellen McNeil Ellingford. He was a graduate of Idaho Falls High School. He attended Brigham Young University and Idaho State University.
Craig married Cathryn Jane Harward on June 25, 1968, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They were later divorced. Craig served as a master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, alternating between B52s and communications. He monitored Russian communications during the Cold War. He was assigned to Athens, Greece; Vanderberg, Calif.; Beal Air Force Base, Calif.; Merced, Calif.; Spain; England; Holland; and Washington, D.C.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed music and had a perfect pitch. He also enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his sons, Dr. Brian C. (Rebecca) Hulse of Willimasburg, Va., and Jeremy R. (Andrea) Hulse of Spanish Fork, Utah; daughter, Deidre (Gabe) Henderson of Spanish Fork; father, Mahlon W. Ellingford of Idaho Falls; brother, Lon W. Ellingford of Idaho Falls; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; and a brother, Mark B. Ellingford.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave., with President Mark Paulson, counselor in the Idaho Falls LDS Central Stake officiating. The family will visit with friends from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to services. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.woodfuneralhome.com.
