James "Jim" Russell Spaulding, 59, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away Thursday evening, Jan. 29, 2015, at his home in Twin Falls, after a brief struggle with cancer.
Jim was born Jan. 15, 1956, in Rexburg, the son of Norma Jean Archibald and Melvin Bruce Spaulding. He grew up and attended schools in Rexburg, graduating from Madison High School in 1974. He furthered his education at Ricks College, until he was called to serve an LDS mission to Independence, Missouri. After his mission, Jim moved to Provo, Utah, where he worked to get his real estate license and eventually, owned his own brokerage.
Jim met his sweetheart, Annette Jensen, and they were married for time and all eternity Feb. 19, 1982, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Together, they raised five children: Coleman, Laci, Lexie, Taylor and McKenzie.
Jim worked in sales and marketing that took him all over the United States; they lived in North Carolina, Arizona and St. George, Utah, and finally settled in Twin Falls. Jim, Annette and family opened Precision Vinyl Products in Twin Falls, which became a very successful company for many years. In 2006, Jim was diagnosed with MS and eventually sold the business and became a regional manager for Ply-Gem Building Products, where he worked until the time of his death.
Jim's greatest accomplishment was his family and loved to be a part of their lives, teaching them lifelong skills and goals. He loved the game of golf and enjoyed the times spent on the golf course with friends and family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in many callings and always gave 100 percent. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and friend.
Jim is survived by his wife, Annette Spaulding; five children, Coleman (Pamela) Spaulding, Laci (Derrick) Hope, Lexie (Jacob) Thomas, Taylor (Natalie) Spaulding and McKenzie (Brett) Loveless; precious grandchildren, Oakley Hope, Olive Hope, Ivory Hope and Trey Loveless. Also surviving are his parents, Melvin and Norma Spaulding, and his brothers, Brad (Nedra) Spaulding, Scott (Lisa) Spaulding, Kim (Becky) Spaulding, Dan (Pat) Spaulding and Joe (Tannis) Spaulding.

Dear Annette,
I was looking for the obituary of my cousin's son who died in a car accident near Burley. As I was scrolling through the names, I saw Jim's. We could not believe it. I think it was a tender mercy that I saw it that day. We are so happy that our paths crossed with yours through the years. Jim was always so positive and selfless. We remember how he decided to leave the job in Arizona because he felt he needed to do more for his family. It was so great when you moved into our ward in St. George. We have loved keeping in touch with you at Christmas time to know how your family has grown and progressed. We pray that you may have peace as you continue your journey without such a special person at your side. Your children and grandchildren will be such a blessing to you. The plan of happiness brings the greatest consolation at times like this. We know that the atonement is so real and that the Saviour will bless you. We are serving a mission in Brisbane Australia now, so we will not be sending cards at Christmas. Please do not cross us off your list. We will catch up when we get home. Our prayers and love are with you. Love, Elder Dan and Sister Jane Madsen

Jamey(yes Jamey, that's how long I have know him) was always such a joy to be around and tons of fun. His smile was contageous! I am a better person for being able to call him my friend. When I ran into him a few years ago it was great to catch up on his family. I spoke with Tannis at Christmas time and it broke my heart to hear of his health struggles, but as always she said he was up beat. Sending our love & Prayers your way, Stacy & Betty (Fisher) Jensen

Steve and I moved to Twin Falls in February of 2004 and met the Spauldings who were in our ward. Jim was Kind, friendly and ready to help in any way he could to anyone he met. We hope at this time Annette that you and your family can find peace and comfort in the knowledge that Jim has only gone ahead, that you are an eternal family sealed together for all time and one day you will not be separated. We will not be able to attend the services as we serve in the temple as workers on Saturday. With Love,
Steve and Judy Rasmussen

I did not know Jim, but Kim served his mission in the area I grew up. If Jim was anything like Kim he was a stalwart, steward on a eternal mission.

Glynn and I moved to Twin Falls in 1993 and lived there until 1999. We became great friends with the Spaulding clan and have kept tabs on each other these many years. We've swapped kids, shared war stories of business ventures gained and lost, laughed and lamented the "joys" and "sorrows" of parenthood and marriage. But, whats fondly seared into my memory is Jim's great example of a man that loved to work and serve his Savior. He persevered through challenging times back then and now, and when we visited a few weeks back he was at peace with his pending Mission call. He shared some tender moments and inspiring council while clearly ignoring his visible discomfort. I have no doubt Jim greeted his Savior with a warm embrace.... then with a smile asked; "How can I help out around here?". Then, on his own initiative saw what needed doing, and got right to work. May Heavenly Father comfort the Spaulding Family and may you all find comfort and peace to your mourning hearts. With Love,The Scholle's,

Dear Annette and Family,
Jerrolyn, Shirley and I are saddened as we heard of Jim's passing. Through this trying time, our prayers are with you. I taught Jim in band at Madison High School, and he taught me how to tie flies. I have not forgotten what I learned from him. May you find peace in the knowledge that you will be together again as you mourn your loss.

We express our deepest sympathies to the Jim Spaulding family. Jim and I were best friends all thru Jr & Sr high school, and spent a lot of time on our motorcycles and in each others' homes. We did a lot of skiing and snow moiling together too.
Jim and I were an important part of each others' life growing up. We had a lot of fun together, celebrated our birthdays a week apart, and had many spiritual experiences together. Over the years jobs, business affairs and distance has pulled us apart as we have lost contact until recently.
I will always remember his infectious laugh, and his friendly personality. He will be greatly missed here on earth, but we know he is on the other side just ready to run full speed ahead!.
Our prayers are with you and your family!

Very sorry to hear of Jim's passing. While they lived in Arizona, we spent many enjoyable times together. Jim's wit, humor and general zest for life were contageous - you just couldn't help but have a great day when you were with Jim. The world is diminished without him, yet he lives still in our hearts and memories, as well as beyond the veil. We know that Jim would not want for us to be sad at his passing, but rather to remember him with a smile and amazement at the greatness of this creation and the beauty of His plan. Please accept our heartfelt prayers for peace and comfort now and in the days ahead. May your faith in His plan bring you peace. Carl and Brenda Luther family.

Jim and I had a lot of fun growing up together. We spent many hours at the dairy making friends with the cows and calves and riding our bicycles around Burton. I was totally shock when I heard of his illness and now passing. We are saddened of his passing but the heavens are rejoicing for his home coming. My condolences and prayers are with all the family.
