Jimmy N. Hoffman, 89, of Caldwell, Idaho, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise. Family members were with him.
Jim was born in Alpine, Wyo., which was Alpine, Idaho, before the Palisades Reservoir changed boundaries.
After Jim's service in World War II, he graduated from Idaho State University with a degree in pharmacy.
Jim and Grace, and his brother Joe and his wife, Lael, established their own independent pharmacy in Oxnard, Calif., where Jim and his beloved wife, Grace, worked alongside Joe and Lael for 40 years.
Jim and Grace retired to Caldwell over 20 years ago. Jim loved Idaho and divided his time between Caldwell and Alpine.
Jim loved his wonderful neighbors dearly and was proud and grateful to be called friend.
He leaves, till we meet again, family members Lael Hoffman, Joe and Paula Hoffman, Matt Hoffman, Amanda and Steven Alfred, Elliott Alfred, Lillian Grace Alfred, and Dan and Julie Geisler.
Jim is joyfully reunited now with his wife, Grace; his brothers, Joe and Dave; his sisters, Josie and Viola; his niece, Pat; as well as his parents, Joe and Nellie Mae.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at Buck-Miller-Hann Funeral Home, 825 E. 17th St. in Idaho Falls, with Pastor Dave London officiating. Burial will follow in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery in Idaho Falls, with military rites to be performed by the Bonneville Veterans Team. A viewing for family and friends will be held one hour prior to the funeral Saturday.

uncle jim will be greatly missed. i forever grateful for his example of love towards his beloved wife grace! thank you to all his friends and neighbors for their kindness.

Dear Matt and Family,
Please accept my condolances for the loss of Mr. Hoffman. I did not know him personally, but the stories Matt told me showed him to be a great and wonderful person--uncle, brother, etc. My sincerest sympathies. My thoughts are with you today.
