Albert Mangino Obituary

Saratoga Lake Albert R. "Chicker" Man-gino Sr., 71, of Saratoga Lake, began his eternal life on Thursday, Jan. 17, with his family by his side, after a courageous fight for life. Born in Schen-ectady, June 22, 1936, he was the son of Adeline Mangino and the late Albert A. Mangino. He was a graduate of Nott Terrace High School in Schenectady. He was an Army veteran serving in Greenland. Albert owned and operated Mangino and Son Construction and ARM Construction in Malta. He was a member of the Greenwich Elks Club, Malta Lions Club and Malta Business and Professional Association. He was predeceased by his father, Albert A. Mangino and his wife Phyllis Mangino. He is survived by his children: Albert R. Mangino Jr. of Saratoga Lake, Kimberly (Wayne) VanValkenburgh of Malta, Valerie Mazza and Debra Mangino of Buellton, Calif.; six grandchildren: Nicholas and Danny Mazza, Wayne and Victoria VanValkenburgh and Schuyler and Francesa Mangino; mother, Adeline Mangino of Saratoga Lake; three brothers: Ralph Mangino of Ballston Spa, Anthony (Laura) Mangino of Venice, Fla., and Richard (Pauline) Mangino of Saratoga Lake; sister, Marlene McKinney of Saratoga Lake; many beloved nieces and nephews and his companion and special friend, Connie Roy. Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballston Spa. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High St., Ballston Spa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association Society, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, NY 12211.
