David Bishop Obituary

David L. Bishop

April 27, 1960 - December 8, 2024

It is with our greatest sorrow that we announce the passing of David L. Bishop on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his home and onto his journey to his next adventure.

Born April 27, 1960, he was the son of the late LeRoy "Pete" and Shirley (Thomas) Bishop.

Dave graduated from Queensbury High School in 1978, and had a lifetime career at the Bishop Dental Lab, which was the family business started by Pete and Rod Bishop. On New Year's Eve, December 31, 1996, Dave married Sandra Vey, and they enjoyed 28 years of happiness together.

Dave was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed cutting, splitting, and stacking wood for his winter heat. He built many blue stone walls around his home. He loved to ski since childhood, and he golfed in the same league at Sunnyside that his dad and uncle played in. Dave's latest hobby was playing pickleball. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Dave is predeceased by his sister, Sue.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sandra Bishop; his son, Tyler (Stephanie); he generously assumed fatherhood for his bonus children, Clifton, Jeanne, April and Bruce; his cherished grandchildren, Logan, Spencer, Jacobey, Brooke, Charles, Marsella, Natellie, Rikki, Ashton, and Avery; his great-grandson, Damon, and soon to make his appearance in January, Oakley. Dave will also be remembered by the other special children in his life, Bob, Angela and Cindy; as well as his siblings, Peter (Sue), Barb (Terry), and Mark (Carole).

Dave made the selfless choice to donate his body to the Anatomical Gift Program at Albany Medical Center in order to further the education of future medical professionals. Dave hoped that he would be on an interesting adventure.

Arrangements are in the care of the M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main Street, South Glens Falls, N.Y. 12803. There will be no services at this time. See you when you get home Dave! You will be extremely missed!!

Memorial donations in Dave's name can be made to a charity of one's choice.

Dave was a kind, kind soul, and he taught me how to love a river, accept its gifts along with the things that get swept away. I send my warm regards to all of the Bishop family.

Dear Pete, Barb and family:
I was saddened and shocked to hear of Dave´s passing. He was such a great guy. I worked with him for my full time as a dentist and always had a great conversation as he delivered cases. Your family is a wonderful one, and I pray that you can get relief from Dave´s loss. God bless you and may Dave have a wonderful "adventure " now and forever.
