David Fenton Obituary

David A. Fenton

Dec. 29, 1954 - Jan. 5, 2024

GANSEVOORT - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David A. Fenton, a wonderful father and devoted family man. David, 69, left this world on January 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

Dave battled lung cancer for several years, and fought as hard as he possibly could. Up until his passing he was an active, hard working individual. Looking at him, you would have not realized he was sick.

He is predeceased by his father, Bob Fenton, mother, Lorraine Fenton, wife, Susan Fenton, brothers: Daniel and Mark Fenton, and his son, Jarrod D. Fenton (Erin). He is survived by his children: David E. Fenton (Lorna Fenton), Joey E. Fenton (Gie Dockery), Jessica M. Burnham (Kurt Clothier), and AnnaClaire I. Blowers (Brian Samuel Blowers); favorite sister, Marybeth Fenton; and brothers: Bill (Kathy) and John Fenton (Kim). His love was also his abundance of grandchildren: Jeremiah Fenton, Maggie McLaughlin, Gaige Burnham, Grace Fenton, Emma Fenton, Luke Fenton, Holly Fenton, and Nash Blowers.

Aside from immediate family he honored his friendships with numerous lifelong friends, coworkers, and neighbors.

David dedicated over 30 years of his life to Sears, took passion in helping people out with all of their appliances over the years, of course the conversations and visiting as well.

His hobbies extended to his passion as an avid fisherman, casting lines, boating and telling fish stories. Dave was always at garage sales, and enjoyed going with his friend, Al Edgerly. One man's trash was truly Dave's treasure.

He loved Harley Davison motorcycles and enjoyed pleasure riding always. His fun loving spirit will forever live on and we cannot forget all of the memories we were all fortunate to have.

We would like to thank love and support from Dr. Darci Gaiotti-Grubbs, Dr. Ben Taylor, and the wonderful nurses, and staff in the C.R. Wood Cancer Center at Glens Falls Hospital. The Community Hospice of Saratoga team assisted with Dave's end of life care and were wonderful, supportive, and nurturing. The emotional support with the nursing staff were much appreciated and cannot thank them enough for all of their help.

At Dave's request, there will be no services and chose to donate his body to Albany Medical Center Anatomical Gift Program.

My deepest condolences. I went to school with Dave. A group of us spent a lot of time together back in the early 70´s. Always lots of laughs. Life happened and unfortunately we all drifted apart. I am greatly saddened having come across this tonight. See yah on the other side Dave...in the meantime rest easy.

Dave was a great guy. I worked with him at Sears. He always has a smile on his face. He could be seen dancing while waiting for his parts. I would run into him occasionally outside of Sears over the years. Always with that unforgettable smile.
Rest easy Dave Fenton.

My condolences to Dave's family for their huge loss. I remember Dave mostly from back in the seventies and eighties and yes, he really was quite the character. Dave was liked and loved by just about everyone and the stories of Dave's many "adventures" would spread across the entire village. I can still picture Dave out on the weekends, over by the pool table with a pool stick in his hand, sipping on a cold one and having a wonderful time. Dave was always the same, good-natured, fun-loving guy every time I saw him, and he will be missed by many, many people. Rest in peace, Dave. Enjoy your time in paradise and "Thank You" for the memories.

Dave was such a good friend way back in the day. I have a million stories I could share.
I´m sorry we drifted apart. Life gets in the way. But anytime I ran into him, he was the same old Dave. Always happy and making people laugh. His smile and demeanor was contagious. He´ll be missed by many. And he was loved by many. May he be sitting near God, sharing some laughs and have peace in his heart.

I´ll always remember David as a young boy. Full of life with a devilish smile. I babysat for him and his siblings. David was a sleep walker and I could tell a couple of funny stories about him but I won´t. RIP Dave.
