SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Kathryn Ann "Annie" Celeste, 86, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Glens Falls on June 14, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Kathryn (Mornhinweg) Fitzgibbon.
She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School.
Annie married Jack "Custy" Celeste on July 3, 1959, in St. Michael's Church in South Glens Falls.
She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church for many years.
Annie enjoyed gatherings with her family whether it was big or small, she took the most pride in the home she built with her husband especially sitting on her porch, gardening, knitting, drives with her husband, vacationing in Maine, going to her granddaughter's sporting events, cooking, baking.
In addition to her parents, Annie was predeceased by her husband, Jack "Custy" Celeste, Jr.; brothers: William J. Fitzgibbon and Daniel Fitzgibbon; brothers-in-law: John Dorvee, and David Centerbar; sister-in-law, Carolyn Linindoll.
Left to cherish her memory include her son, Jack Celeste III (Beth); granddaughters: Brittany Smith (Elton), Lindsey Fredette (Rick), Kelsey Celeste (Bobby Hanley), and Mallory Normandin (Jake); great-grandchildren: Quinn, Austin, Oscar, Hazel; sisters: Rose Dorvee, Nancy Cooper (Paul), Margaret Centerbar, Mary Hathorn (John); in-laws: Christine Fitzgibbon, Debbie Fitzgibbon, and Robert Linindoll; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and family may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at M.B. Kilmer Funeral Home, 136 Main St., South Glens Falls, NY 12803.
A funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2024, at St. Michaels Church, 80 Saratoga Ave., South Glens Falls, NY 12803, with Rev. Guy A. Childs, Pastor, officiating.
Rite of committal will follow the funeral mass at St. Mary's Cemetery in South Glens Falls.
Donations in Annie's memory can be made to The Guardian Angel Fund of St. Mary's St. Alphonsus Regional Catholic School, 10-12 Church St., Glens Falls, NY 12801.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Glens Falls Hospital, Community Hospice of Saratoga especially Vicki, and her team, the four caregivers, Vicky, Elly, Amy, and Terri who gave Annie the best care in her final weeks. A very special thank you to her sisters, Rose, Nancy, and Margaret for not only their care but for their love and support they have given. Finally a special thanks to Addie Rivers who has been a special family friend and caregiver for Annie the last several years.
