Mr. Gaut was an amazing science teacher my sixth grade year. I had him 04-05. i will always remember his long offtrailing conversations, but no matter how long they were always interesting. The thing i will remember most though was how he told us to "waft" our science projects when they required smelling. He will be forever in my memory as one of my favorite teachers. Rest easy

Kevin was such a thoughtful and articulate colleague. I always appreciated his input when I had the chance to work with him at district workshops. Rest in peace, Kevin, and may those whose lives you touched be better people because of having known you.

There are only a few teachers I remember from my childhood. Mr. Gaut is one of those few. (1981-82) He made the classroom interesting and alive. I remember our classroom transformation into King Tuts Tomb for Halloween, he provided my first introduction to performing arts, the scratch & sniff stamp collecting club (I still have my collection after all these years), and the list goes on... He truly cared for each and every student. He inspired me to get involved in school activities. He made such a difference and I am better for having know him at such a pivotal time in my life.

Mr. Gaut was one of my favorite teachers. I had him for 6th grade in 1986-87. We were the last class to do the big art show themed room. Im still friends with some of my class mates and we still talk about him and the good times we had. I remember class with him like it was yesterday. So many memories there are too many to name. He will be terribly missed. Thanks for all you've taught me :)

Mr Gaut was my 6th grade teacher 78-79! I often think back to the haunted cave we made out of the classroom! And his Stixx and Kiss albums we would listen to before class every morning!

Kevin had a way with words unlike anybody I have ever known. I was always in awe listening to him. He was also a very intelligent man who very patiently helped others. I am happy to have worked with such a devoted teacher. God is blessed to have him in heaven. He is certainly missed here on earth. RIP good friend.

Mr. Gaut was my 6th grade teacher back in the 80's. I think my class may have been the last to have the "cool" room for the Art Show. He was one great teacher and I have a lot of fond memories of him and that class from years ago.

Mr. Gaut was an awesome teacher! Great memories of a wonderful person. I think everyone wanted to be in his 6th grade class so they could create "Mr. Gaut's art show room". That was so much fun! He will be greatly missed by everyone who's life he influenced.

R.I.P Mr.Gaut... You were my 6th grade teacher in 2010. You were the best at telling storys to our homeroom, scream at us during the story and scare us off our seats! We always loved a story from you. You use to help us get rid of the hicups. And we all are going to miss you terribly.

Mr. Gaut was a wonderful man. I was honored not only to be his student, but later, his colleague in the BASD. He taught from his soul. Many condolences to his family who lost him far too soon.

Kevin was my mentor, my co-worker, my co-hort, sometimes my co-conspirator, but most of all, my friend. He will be missed.
