I bartended with Matty at the Pourhouse. He was unbelievable. A true legend in his own time. He didn't take any crap anyone, even if they were twice his size. He went to bat for his regulars too. One time the prices went up 25 or 50 cents and he asked the management to keep the prices the same on a specific product for certain people. Even years later there was still a "Matty Special" button on the computer. In one of my favorite conversations we had I tried to explain the Internet to him because he wondered how someone saw his picture on a computer all the way up in Boston lol. Those are a few of my memories of Matty. Well the ones that are fit to print anyway (I tell some others in the bar). Even though I haven't seen him in a few years I'll miss him. A true gentleman and one-of-a-kind. Rest in Peace, sir.

I didn't know Matthew well, but sat a few pews behind him in church on Sunday mornings. I always enjoyed talking to Matt after the service. He was a good man, and always jovial and friendly. I wish I'd gotten to know him better.
