Ruth Leyrer Obituary

Ruth Naomi Leyrer of Pottstown, wife of the late Gerald R Leyrer, passed away on March 20 2023. She was the daughter of the late George and Frances Griffith. Ruth was a member of the Masonic Widow Guild. She was a Sunday and bible school teacher and also a girl scout leader at St. Paul's UCC. She loved the Phillies Eagles and Sixers. She also enjoyed the NJ/Maryland shore. Ruth worked as a supervisor cashier at Owen J. Roberts High cafeteria. She also worked as a seamstress and a bookkeeper, and volunteered at Pottstown Hospital. She loved gardening, canning her own tomatoes and sauce, and embroidering quilts. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her best friend Jan Rose and her two daughters. Surviving are two daughters Donna Risko and Cheryl Fisher and one son Richard. Also many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A service will be held at St. Paul's UCC, Grace and Franklin St., Pottstown, on May 13 2023 at 10:00 am.

Ruth was a very nice lady who I met years ago giving her allergy shots....she always made me smile and everyone liked her in the office. Very friendly lady.
