I just found out about Al's passing today. I am so sorry to hear that he is gone. I used to work with him at IBM as part of the Redbooks editing team. He taught me so much, and was a good friend. I loved his dry sense of humor. He and I stayed in touch for many years after he retired, but he stopped responding after a while. Now I know why. May he rest in peace.

Vikki,

I'm so sorry for your loss - and for the loss of an extraordinary guy. Though I didn't get to know him well, Al was that person who always made me laugh. RIP.
