Cherie Lora Freeman-McKay

Poughkeepsie, New York - Cherie Lora Freeman-McKay passed away at the age of 57 on January 26, 2021 at MHRH. She was born on Dec. 28, 1963 in Beacon, NY. the daughter of Chester L. Jackson Sr. and Betty Jean Johnson. In 1997, she graduated from Dutchess County Boces with her LPN and in 2012, received her Assoc. in Nursing Degree from Dutchess Community College. As everyone knows Cherie was about her coins. She was currently working at Unlimited Care Agency and Lutheran Care Nursing Home. To carry on her legacy she is survived by her Daughters Cherrell L. Jackson & Shakirah L. Freeman, Grandson Jassiem A. Jackson, & Special Daughter in Love Heather L. Graham. Her Sisters Quinn Dora Jackson, Dortina Dallas, and Latasha Jackson-Thompson. Brothers Chester L. Jackson Jr, & Calvin Dallas Jr.

She is predeceased by her Grandparents, Parents, Brother Quincy R.Jackson, Sisters Sarah Ruth Jackson, her twin Cherrell Jackson and her Spouse Kenneth T. McKay. She will be greatly and sorely missed by her Aunts, Uncle, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and colleagues as well as her special sisters.

Visitation will be held Saturday February 6, 2021 from 3pm to 4:30pm at the Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie, New York 12603. Funeral Services will follow the Visitation at 4:30pm. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Cherie, I can’t believe that ur gone!! It wasn’t that long ago that we bumped into each other & u gave me the biggest BEAR HUG & that huge smile of yours that lit up the room!!!!! We shared a lot of good & crazy times together while working at the hotel!!!! U worked so hard & overcame ALOT of obstacles but you were determined to accomplish your goals & you SO DID my friend.
