Gary Benedict Obituary
Hyde Park - On August 4, 2015 Gary was called home to be with the Lord. He was surrounded by his family. Gary was a Born Again Christian that believed in Jesus Christ and was proud to share his faith with others.
Gary is survived by his loving wife, Connie J. Benedict, two daughters, Lisa and Vince Ingersoll of Sibley, MO and Lori and Brian Weishaupt of Poughkeepsie. Gary loved his sons-in-law like his own sons. He is also survived by his grandson Aaron Ingersoll, his hero, and a granddaughter Christine and Daulton Caley of Oceanside, CA. He was so proud of their service in the US Marine Corps.
He is also survived by his mother, Beatrice Benedict, of Poughkeepsie, as well as his sisters, Barbara Clark and Bonnie and Billy Brokosch of Hyde Park.
Gary worked for 14 years for the Highland Central School District working at all three schools over the years as Custodian/ Groundkeeper. Gary had such a love for all of his family and friends and treasured each and every one of them.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Gary R. Benedict will take place on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 10:00am at Sweet's Funeral Home, Rte. 9, Hyde Park, Pastor Tom Hartley officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to either: Feed the Children, P.O. Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101 or Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 listed in Gary's honor.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sweet's Funeral Home, Inc, Rte. 9, Hyde Park.
