A friend, teacher, brother, buddy, that's what Jaime represented for me in 50 years of closeness that helped shape the person I am today. His profound humanity, powerful intellect and generous heart made him stand out as a unique human being. I will miss him for the rest of my life.

Un familiar de gran sensibilidad y valor. El tío Jaime fué, para mí, un ejemplo de dedicación a los otros, en su profesión como médico. Un cristiano de corazón. Y un intelectual que le dedicó su vida al estudio y al cultivo de los valores espirituales. Saudades profundas de él y de su cálida presencia con su "politesse du coeur", en las oportunidades que tuve de encontrarlo personalmente. Fué, para mí, muy cercado en los ideales, a pesar de la distancia.

He was a great mentor, friend and colleague. He will be missed by so many. When Dutchess County was closing its doors at the Multi-Disabled Clinic on Mansion Street, he didn't hesitate to join us as a group practice to serve the disabled in our community working for very little in return for his expertise. He was loved by so many of his patients. Always thinking of others, he had a kind, and generous soul. My deepest condolences to his loving family.

The Hudson Valley has lost a man of great integrity, a brilliant physician of enormous compassion, and a model of civility and respect for all. A professional who embodied the meaning of "grace under pressure," Dr. Rodriguez-Tellez regarded all men and women, boys and girls, as worthy of his best efforts and dedicated attention. If he interviewed an inmate in the prison, that man or woman would feel Dr. Rodriguez's empathy and caring; if he was instructing staff at Hudson River Psychiatric Center about the course of a particular mental challenge, all felt that he was speaking directly to them with remarkable clarity. He anticipated the needs of others and was always ready to inquire about one's family, their well being and progress. A calm and measured thinker he was quick to grasp whatever was worthwhile and effective in the world of mental health, and very resistant to the latest fad that promised to make everything better. An erudite man, fluent in multiple languages, Dr. Rodriguez represented all that is good and worthy as a faithful husband, loving father, Doctor, man and friend. He will be missed by many.
