Millbrook - Marilyn J. McDowell 72 of Millbrook passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2016. Marilyn was born at Vassar Brothers Hospital on February 8, 1944 to the late George and Eleanor McLain. She graduated from Staatsburg Union School in Hyde Park in June of 1962 and was later employed by Feldman Jacobson Abstract for 42 years. On September 17, 1966 Marilyn married Ronald McDowell in Staatsburg, NY. Marilyn was a very loving and supportive mother, grandmother and friend. She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by all. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed activities such as golfing, stamping up, dancing and her movie nights at her longtime friend, "Ron" Higgins' House. She loved going to lunch at Chili's with her daughter, Meaghan and having a margarita. She loved watching her grandchildren play sports and was was extremely proud of both her son and daughter's accomplishments.
Marilyn is survived by her beloved children Steven McDowell and his wife Leanne of Dunn Loring, VA; her daughter Meaghan Williamson and her husband Thomas Williamson of Millbrook; her cherished grandchildren Aidan and Evan McDowell and Hunter Williamson; her ex husband Ronald McDowell and his wife Susan McDowell; her dear brother William McLain and his wife Jane McLain as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved family, Marilyn is survived by a countless amount of friends, including her best friend Joan Bender.
Calling hours for Marilyn will be held Thursday March 17, 2016 from 4-8pm at Allen Funeral Home 3270 Franklin Avenue, Millbrook, NY. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday 10 am at Saint Joseph's Church 15 North Avenue Millbrook, NY. Interment will be private. The Family is welcoming everyone back to the Fireside BBQ and Grill after the church services.

Just decided to call Marilyn this date for no particular reason. I was too late. We graduated together at Staatsburg Union. She was the top of the class and I was was second (I forgive you...). I'm sure that a few trains going thru upstairs wont bother her...I just won the Super Senior Desert race Championship in Nevada at age 71....I guess that was for you dear...some tears now...godspeed....Al Walter, Pahrump, NV 775-751-0365

To all the beloved family of Marilyn and to her many friends George and I send our heartfelt sympathy. Marilyn was a truly wonderful person with a positive look on life. She will be missed so much. Due to a medical situation George and I cannot be there with you, but we are there in spirit. All who knew Marilyn have lost a great gal. Heaven has gained a special angel. God Bless you all.

I I am sorry to hear of the passing of Marilyn. We started kindergarten together and stayed friends over the years. I am thinking of her family today and just want you to know we are all going to miss her. She was a very kind person.

I will always remember Marilyn's smile and her willingness to share her knowledge. We worked together in the record room for such a long time. It's hard to believe she's gone. I learned of Marilyns passing today and I was shocked and saddened. Marilyn and I were long time friends and had been emailing but we hadn't emailed in a long tme. I learned today of Marilyns passing and I am shocked and saddened. We have been emailing for a long time and we hadn't kept in touch recently. We were childhood friends.
