Mauro Elevado Obituary
WAPPINGERS FALLS - Mauro B. Elevado, a resident of Wappingers Falls, entered into rest Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was 80.
Son of the late Apolonio and Cecelia Baello Elevado, he was born January 20, 1933 in Manila, Philippines.
Together with his wife, Doris, they owned and operated McCelland's Home for Adults in Wappingers Falls as well as Morningside Manor in Fishkill where Mauro was Administrator. He had worked previously as a Real Estate Broker. He was former president of the Filipino Association of Rockland County.
He is survived by his wife, Adoracion "Doris" Elevado at home in Wappingers Falls; his children, Sharon Elevado of Chandler, Arizona and Morris Elevado and his wife, Stephanie of East Greenwich, Rhode Island; his grandchildren, Hunter, Avery, Alex, Lauren, and Caroline; and his sister Connie Elevado of the Philippines.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Jorge, Apolonio and Fermin.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home, 55 East Main Street, Wappingers Falls. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Peggy Ann Sauerhoff officiating.
